I’m not going to lie

I get pretty irritated when parents call with last minute changes. I really try to be flexible but come on. I have things to do too during the day. I like working mornings because then I am able to do errands, go to the gym, grocery shop, do whatever I need to do after work. I don’t like afternoons  so much because I feel like my day gets wasted.

Twice this week a parent called and changed times so I have to come and stay later. I also, had three last minute cancellations. I don’t usually mind if its in advance because I can ask other parents if they need extra days but last minute doesn’t work too well for me. Babysitting is what I do, it’s my job. To them, I might just be the one who comes and frees up thier days a bit so they can go run errands or whatever but this is my income. When you cancel on my, I don’t get paid.

The thing with me is that I am too nice. I always accomidating. I put other people before myself. That’s something I really need to work on.

Like my one resolution for 2007, time to do what’s best for me first before anyone else.

Back to work Post-Christmas

I am officially back to work after the Holidays. I am glad I took awhile off but I do think that it spoiled me! As much as I love my kids, I was really looking forward to just relaxing in bed another day with my pup watching boring day time television.

My little ones, all three families, got so much for Christmas. I’ve basically been opening up and putting together new toys and saying, “You got that too?!”. they are literally swimming in new toys! Not being able to walk in a straight line because there is so much scattered everywhere is not my cup of tea but all these are new so, of course, they all have to be out at once!

Favorites include, Polly Pocket Snow Cool Hotel (which took me 52 years to put together, by the way), books (which are also MY favorite), a tmx Elmo (wierd little thing) and various dancing Disney princesses.

Seriously, who thought it was necessary to tie each and every little piece down by plastic, rubberband and twisty ties? When it takes you 20 minutes to get all of Barbies accessories and Barbie out of the package and set up, only to have you lose interst and want to open something else?

YEAH. that’s definitely not my favorite thing.

Not so sick anymore so it’s recap time

I am feeling much better. I didn’t partake in all the family Christmas activities because well, I wasn’t trying to contaminate everyone with all my nasty germs. I’m basically just groggy and sluggish now.

One thing I am pretty bummed about is that I didn’t get to do one of my new Christmas traditions. 2 years ago, my boyfriend and I decided to go to the movies on Christmas day in between all the family madness and did it again last year. the first time we saw Meet the Fockers and last year was Wolf Creek. I was looking forward to A Night at the Museum this year! We are going to go probably this weekened to make up for it though and just pretend it is Christmas Day.

My family and boyfriend’s family spoiled me greatly this year, with money and giftcards for my MacBook, a Ravenclaw scarf (wooo!), my Inspi(red) shirt, and a few other things. those are just my favorite. the families I nanny for spoiled me as well too! I got a book (which was great), $10 gift card for Bath and Body Works, $50 for Foot Locker (shoe obsession, hello!?), a gorgerous necklace and $100 cash.

I think the best part of Christmas though was seeing people open my gifts. I put alot of thought into each one and so many people told me how great each of my gifts were. I was called the “perfect gift finder” a few times. Haha, I love it.

I took a few days off for the Holidays. I needed a little break from the kids. I am looking forward to seeing all the little ones though and playing with the new toys and reading all the new books.  I was supposed to be back at work thursday but a last minute call from the McC’s changed that. It’s only 2 hours and they live only a few blocks away so it’s fine. I can use the cash because I am a broke ass now that I’m spending $1200 on a new computer!

Christmas Loot

I’m going to finally get my MacBook in a week! Yay!

I also got gift cards for Best Buy, Bath and Body Works and Foot Locker.  A GAP Inspi(red) shirt too.

Still sick. I’m going to sleep.

Merry Christmas!!

Sick, sick, sick

I’m feeling quite miserable. My throat hurts, I talk funny, I’m stuffy. Booo.

Who wants to be sick on Christmas?
